Celebrate National Nursing Assistants Week (June 11-18)
All Healthcare
Thursday, June 11 kicks off the 32nd Annual National Nursing Assistants Week (June 11-18, 2009). Nursing assistants, also known as nurse aides, direct care workers, caregivers, certified nursing assistants, geriatric aides, unlicensed assistive personnel, orderlies, home health aides, or hospital attendants, provide hands-on care and perform routine tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff.
More than 2.5 million nursing assistants help elderly, frail, or chronically challenged persons live in nursing homes, their own homes, and other long-term care settings. They provide nearly 80 to 90 percent of the direct care received by clients in long-term care facilities, bringing patience, a caring attitude and wisdom to their practices.
Take time to recognize and honor nursing assistants’ hard work and dedication during National Nursing Assistants Week.

My wife is a Nursing Assistant and works very hard and does things that most of us would not do for our jobs.. And she does it for minimal pay... She deserves to be appreciated not only for what she does but for the Heart she puts into it... All CNA's need to be reconized and appreciated for what they do!!! I know I am very blessed to have someone with so much heart if and when I may need help!!!
This Artical is wonderful... I will pass it on!!!

I am a CNA and I think the nursing aids are the back bone of the nursing profession. I have never seen an appreciation week for CNA's and I think this is a great idea. I will surely pass this along!
