The Best 25 Vacation Cities for Healthcare Workers
Jill Hare, Kevin Powers, Georgia Price and Nina Kim | AllHealthcare, Monster Worldwide

Are you gearing up for your summer vacation, but aren’t sure which direction to go? When it comes to vacationing in the U.S., each city is unique.
Which city is the best travel destination for a hard-working healthcare professional?
We have rated 25 cities for vacationing by examining what each has to offer.
Our criteria
• We looked at the average price of gas in each city and the average airfare for each airport.
• We reviewed the hotel costs in each city and factored that into our rankings.
• Finally, it was important to make sure each city had as much to offer as possible. Fellow travelers rated each city based on culture, shopping, food and nightlife. On top of that, we made sure that there were landmarks, museums, or activities that healthcare professionals would be interested in.

You missed a rare gem in your recommendations. The National Museum of Civil War Medicine, while not in Washington, D.C., is only an hour away in Frederick, MD. It has wonderful dioramas and exhibits or battlefield medicine as well as medical training, etc. in the mid-1800s. Whether or not one is a Civil War or history buff, this is a not to be missed site.

Please note that the Pennsylvania Hospital was founded in 1751, not in the 1950's as stated here. We do offer guided and self-guided cell phone tours of the old historic Pine Building. For more information please contact 215-829-3370.

Re: Philadelphia
You forgot the Mutter Museum! (http://www.collphyphil.org/mutter.asp)
This unique collection was founded in the 1850s to educate future doctors about anatomy and pathology, but the preserved specimens, wax or plaster models, illustrations, antique medical instruments, etc. are a fascinating and sometimes downright wierd look at the history of medical learning and practice.
Make sure to leave your weak-stomached friends back at the Art Museum.
