@delpi98...Are you still stuck with PA vs NP argument? Maybe you should look into the scope of the practice and the need of the physician...NP and PA can work together and be cross trained...Both have their best (of their specialty) to offer and shouldn't be an issue...

Dr. Nurse Practitioner ....um no thank you. It is unethical for an NP to try and pass him/herself off as having the same clinical knowledge and skill of that of a MD. If they were up to par...then the NPs wouldn't be stuck in fast track seeing non acute patients...they would be treating the whole gamete of illness and injury. Fact is...nurse practitioner and doctor nurses are taught by the nursing model....physicians and PAs are taught in the medical model....big difference.

I'm suprise that Medical transcription is on the list. I have my degree and no one will hire me. Everyone wants at least 2 years experience but how do you get experience without a job. I apply anyway but am always told Sorry no experience no job. I haven't figured out how to get around this. Also, if you talk to some they say it is a dying fiend due to the ERMs that are becoming more abundent.

"Another addition to this list should be occupational therapist because there is always a need for OTs in a variety of fields: pediatrics/schools, physical disabilities, mental health, geriatrics and even in industrial consulting/ergonomics. OT operates on the basic philosophy that all people engage in daily activities (called occupations) that make them who they are and give them a sense of independence, such as getting dressed in the morning, eating, etc. When people suffer disease or trauma that interrupts their ability to complete occupations, OTs help them regain their functional capacity. The career requires a master's degree but offers you a lot of versatility in exploring different areas without going back to school. Look into OT as a possible career option--I'm sure glad I chose this field!"

Due to mis- guidance and the previous insitution I attended, was more interested in putting a body in class. I obtained my Master's in Health Administration, now I am faced with going back to school so that I can obtain my BS with specialization in Health Information. Greed and personal concerns can due more harm than help.

    Hello,
My name is Joanne and in addition to all those other positions above, the position of Medical Technologist is in extremely High Demand. How come this position has not been included? I myself am a Med Tech and have noticed that we are unable to find staffing because there is not enough advertisement and mention of the need for this job position. If it weren't for Medical Technologists, nurses and physicians would not have the test results for their patients in order to come up with a diagnosis. This is really sad.

If what I read is to be considered correct I believe that this is false because I am a medical assistant and also a medical biller and coder and can't find a job in the medical field because I am over 60 years old and have no experience in either field. I had and X-ray license but I let it laps because I couldn't find a job. No experience, No job.

I am a certified respiratory therapist and I have been unable to find work in my area. I have been unemployed for just over 4 months now. My only options now are to take on a different type of job and try to go back to school or to relocate to an area where there are larger hospitals with more resp. therapy jobs. My advice to anyone looking into a healthcare career, do your research BEFORE you even get started. Thinking that "healthcare careers are golden" is a myth; RN jobs are plentiful everywhere, but if it is radilogic technician, or respiratory therapist, you have to look into it deeper. If you want to live in a certain area, do a job hunt and see what kinds of openings they have. Are there openings for the career you want? How many hospitals in that area? If the situation for a physical therapy asst. looks bleak in your area, and you don't want to relocate, you may need to find a job path better suited for that area. If I could go back and do it over, I believe I would have put myself on the waiting list for nursing school. Yes, it may take 2 yrs of waiting, but I have never met an RN who could not get a job. It may not be the perfect job, they may not LOVE it, but at least they have one. In these difficult times, that matters alot.
