Since opening in 1911, Orthopaedic Hospital has become the largest children’s orthopedic program in the US. The hospital has over 60,000 outpatient visits a year and has expanded its services to Santa Monica and Westwood through an alliance with UCLA. Orthopaedic Hospital is committed to extensive research, as shown through their development of the Orthopaedic Hospital Research Center. The Research Center specializes in implant biomechanics, biomaterials and particle analysis, and cartilage cell biology to name a few.
