Occupational Therapy Assistant

Why It’s Great:
Occupational therapy assistants work alongside occupational therapists aiding patient treatment by creating treatment plans, documenting the progress of patients,and assisting with routine functions. OT assistants get plenty of hands-on experience and on-the-job training. There is an estimated need for 10,000 OT assistants by 2016.
Where You Can Go:
Most OT assistants eventually become licensed occupational therapists. Other career paths include nursing, physical therapy, and mental health counseling.
