AHC's Hottest Health Employers

AllHealthCare

Want the best work life you can get? If your passion is to work at a place that is truly satisfying – with the best salaries, benefits and professional standards – then you’ll want to know the companies in “AllHealthCare’s Hottest Health Employers.”

AllHealthCare created the Hottest Health Employers list to help you find the best companies to work for, coast to coast. Our survey includes four different measures in our evaluation process.

First, we looked at the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list. This list selects the 100 best companies in all industries, based on employee responses to in-depth surveys. Of the 100, 16 employ healthcare workers. Since these are ratings that contain a big chunk of employee input and benefits evaluations, this provides a great baseline on what current employees think of working in these facilities.

We then looked at other key metrics of a good employer – professional or clinical excellence. For this, we integrated three other rating measures:

• American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Nursing Magnet facility designation
• U. S. News and World Reports’ Best Hospital ratings (including 16 medical specialties)
• American Hospital Association’s Most Wired Hospitals (the top 100)

Gold Stars and More

Gold Star: Employer shows up on all four lists

Silver Star: Employer shows up on three lists

Bronze Star: Employer shows up on two lists

Two employers receive Gold Star status – Methodist Hospital System and Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network – for showing up on all four lists (Magnet, Best Hospital, Most Wired and Best Company).

Since biotech and lab service employers don’t qualify along the three clinical metrics (Best Hospitals, Nursing Magnet Centers or Most Wired Hospitals) They are included in the overall list, but don’t qualify for special starred ratings in our Gold, Silver and Bronze star categories.

What to Expect

The good news: get a job at one of these institutions and you’ll probably enjoy state of the art healthcare for you and your family, tuition reimbursement, on-site gyms, and more.

The bad news: getting a job is highly competitive. But don’t be discouraged by the overall number of applicants. Then again, it never hurts to have great recommendations or to graduate at the top of your class.

So polish up your resume, join AllHealthCare’s Career Network, and give yourself your best shot at success.
