Physical Therapist
Physical therapists must hold a Master of Physical Therapy in order to get licensed and practice. However, physical therapy jobs abound for those who don’t hold advanced degrees in occupations such as physical therapy assistant and physical therapy aide. A job as a physical therapy assistant is the perfect job to hold while obtaining your master’s or doctorate in physical therapy. Physical therapists continue their professional development by participating in continuing education courses and workshops. Many states require a minimum number of CE units each year in order to stay licensed.
Many physical therapist assistants advance by specializing in a clinical area. They may continue on to become licensed physical therapists, or work on the administrative side. This requires more education, such as a Master of Physical Therapy or a Master of Health Administration.
