Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy technicians are one of the fastest-growing careers in the US. The aging population and increasing number of new pharmaceuticals provides ample opportunity for those interested in a pharmacy job. A career as pharmacy technician can lead to a job as a pharmacist with increased education and experience. While most pharmacy technicians hold two-year degrees, a bachelor’s degree and/or certification can increase salary potential.
While on-the-job training in available, many employers prefer candidates with formal classroom training and internship experience. Certification is also very desirable. A career as a pharmacy technician is a natural segue into pursing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree for those who are interested in taking their careers to the next level.
