With healthcare professionals spending so many hours around patients and co-workers, developing feelings for someone you take care of is likely to happen. Has it ever happened to you? How did you handle the situation?

Woo! This topic could get interesting! I have been attracted to patients, but I've always maintained a professional replationship toward them. People are naturally attracted to one another! What matter is if you acted on it. I have had collegues who've dated patients once they were no longer in their care, though.

I'm with OTOldie on this one.  Dating a co-worker would be problematic, I just don't know how much deeper a hole you could dig yourself than by throwing in the ethics associated with a patient.

Don't get me wrong, there are some patients that were I to meet under other circumstances I wouldn't hesitate, but it's just a betrayal of trust to do that in the healthcare setting.

I sooo fancy a patient at the mo but know he's off limits. He does seem to be flirty though so not making it any easier.

i feel like it'd definitely be a conflict of interest... but its kinda like the teacher/student thing in that once he/shes not under your care, then anything goes!
