Hello all!! Thanks for taking time to read this and giving me some comments. I've been considering a career as a physical therapy aide. My only concern has been that there would be ADL. I certinly would not want to be changing  diapers or toileting or dealing with vomit. I definetly don't  look down on anyone doing this type of work(in fact i commend you for your strong stomach and dedication) I just don't want to do that. I'm pretty sure PTA and PT don't do any of that, I just want to be sure.

I also am thinking of getting the degree online. The school is Penn Foster Career School and the total cost is $798.00 and they stated that you can learn at your own pace. They also stated I can finish school within as little as 4 months. After I finish the course they can find a faciluty for me to intern under a PT at. Does this sound like a good decision?

Please respond and thank you.

-Andy

Thank you everybody for all your help. 48 views and nobody knows? No offense but I get alot more info when I ask questions to other people in different career field forums(such as policelink). Seems more like everyone is a family in different fields of work.

Hi Andy,

There is certainly no ADL (that I've heard of) in physical therapy. To find out more about the career path via tons of great resources, be sure to visit our Therapy Careers page. There, you'll find career profiles, how-to guides, sample resumes, etc. so that you can be on your way to a successful and rewarding healthcare career.

Online school is a great decision! It's perfect for people with families or jobs or just busy schedules in general. You can go at your own pace, which means you can finish as quickly as you like! If you want to check out other schools, be sure to sign up for free information on degree programs and scholarships.

You can find out more about online schools in our Education page. Particulary, these articles about online education may help you.

Best of luck! Sorry for the tardy reply!
