What I like best/least about my work…

What I like best about my work is that I am able to see the results, sometimes numerically. I became a team leader over a year ago. It is great to have a chance to move up and learn new things continually. Things are never stagnant. There are always new learning opportunities.

What I like least about my work is that some things are repetitive, like the steps in library construction. However, we always have the chance to rotate to other sections of the lab, learn new protocols, and work with other teams.

My career goals…

My career goals are to go back to school. I have already taken some courses and became certified in A+ Network+ (industry credentials for network support skills). I am thinking about pursuing a biotechnology and business administration graduate program at the University of Maryland.

I am one of those people who research a lot before doing something, because I like to make informed decisions. Recently, I took real estate courses and passed the exam for realtor certification. Though it was challenging, it helped me when I just bought my first house.

When I’m not working I like to:

When I’m not working, I like to be involved with my church. I lead the worship services by playing the guitar. I love music. I teach guitar lessons on Monday nights to a group of friends. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and backpacking with my friends.
